After that ordeal he and his brother made their way along in life. Both have the same career. Assassins. They kill people for money. They even kill shifters .

Rowan Gregor is an alpha. A lone alpha. His entire pack was killed by hunters and because of that he has an intense hatred for hunters. He also shuts himself off from his "alpha" . He chooses not to accept his beast. Always referring the alpha to a separate part of him . They are not one in the same, at least to him. He's working for the CIA . He's hired to track and gather information on Elijah Kane. During one of their assignments , Elijah and Rowan come across each other. Already the tell tale sign of some kind of pull is evident between. But Rowan refuses to acknowledge it because one he's not the "alpha" and two- he's not gay. So he claims. Rowan likes to deny himself a lot of things. Me thinks someone is spending much too much time on the Nile. ANYWAY-
Rowan and Kane get into a bit of scuffle which results in Kane breaking some bones (not his) and Rowan shooting Kane with a silver. Et tu ,Brute? When Rowan starts to feel the same effects that Kane is feeling because of the bullet , Rowan starts to freak out a little bit. Is Yue pulling some kind of evil trick on Rowan? Could she be so cruel? First his pack, now this? (Yue is the moon by way) . After a few more encounters with Elijah , Rowan and him get into a sticky situation and they have to work together in order to survive. And it's all about surviving. Rowan discovers that Elijah and him have quite a bit in common. They're both fighters, survivors. Life- Yue has dealt them hard blows. As Rowan starts spending more time with Elijah , he struggles to continue fighting the bond while Elijah struggles to maintain those walls over his heart. He doesn't want to put his life in the hands of another Alpha.

When things start getting even more dangerous , another alpha from Elijah's past gives them a rather alarming ultimatum. Elijah and Rowan have to decide if they're going to stay and fight, or flee and run. Like they both did so very long ago. If they're going to fight their going to need more help. Which brings back Si- SImeon. We learn in the story that Elijah's lost all contact with his twin. We also learn that even though Kane is an exceptional assassin , Si (Simeon) is even better. If they are going to win , both Elijah , Rowan , and that annoying alpha (he refers to himself as "the king" ) and his pack , then they are definitely going to need some reinforcements.

Simeon's book is the next in the series. And i cannot wait.

*I should mention that there is a really hot scene where Elijah performs oral sex on Rowan when Rowan is chained, to prove that Rowan is in fact gay. It's a good scene. A really good scene. They are a lot of good scenes.

Omega In The Shadows is a fast paced story about Elijah Kane, who's a werewolf assassin, and Rowan Gregor, who's a werewolf CIA agent. I was intrigued especially since the assassins and overall how Perdita could make the couple work since Rowan was bound by law and Elijah listened to no one. Also it happened that Elijah stole my heart. Smart-ass, witty and rebellious assassin who didn't took orders from others, especially from alphas, was bound to make me fall in love with them.

There was twist and turns, and just when I though the plot would stop for a while - that there was no twists left - Perdita turned the story upside down, or at least brought some new aspects. I loved how it surprised me all the time without making it feel that things were brought up to be a shock value only. They only made me want to read the whole book at one sitting because I couldn't stop (it sure was hell to actually work and sleep while reading this!). The story was strong because of Elijah's character and his intriguing and dark past, but the plot and other characters, mainly Rowan, made the story even stronger.

Pleasurable, interesting and full of action with one smart-ass assassin, that's what Omega In The Shadows is all about. There's also a kick-ass romance since it can't be anything else with a character like Elijah Kane and his stubborn and brave alpha, Rowan. I do recommend this for anyone up to good, fast paced paranormal romance!

Now I need the sequel which is about Elijah's brother.
Okay I shouldn’t love an assassin but this one was too cute for words. He was scared and insecure when it came to trust and love. He felt love was a weakness and allowing someone to claim him was as well. That is until the grouchy and reluctant of coming out of the closet Rowan. Rowan who was secure in his masulinity but not his wolf or knowing who he was really. Which is what made the pairing of these two by Yue so precious. They were able to help each other. Rowan, the alpha, helped Elijah, the omega, see that it is okay to love and trust. That sometimes that shows more strength than to walk away. Rowan showed Elijah that he had a home and someone to trust and who would be there for him no matter what-the good the bad and the ugly-past didn’t matter for it was Elijah he loved and not his past. Elijah helped Rowan give into his wolf and learn to begin to feel comfortable and proud of that side. He also showed him that he was attracted to men and this is what would calm his wolf. Elijah showed Rowan even after a shaky start in which they both tried to kill each other that he was there for him.

These two truly do try to harm one another but their connection has them feeling the other. This bugs Rowan more than Elijah. As they are placed in dangerous territory a reliance on one another and a trust is built. Neither leaves the other to die. Neither can handle walking away and acceptance from each occurs. Rowan accepts his mate is male and that he loves him and Elijah accepts that he loves Rowan and must trust him. Together these two are precious. Even when faced with danger they fight for each other.

The intimate moments are off the charts for these two and have you root that they get out of the situation alive and together. A great shifter tale of finding and accepting who you are and who you love.
